Before co-founding Stem Wine Group, Tony Macchione enjoyed successful careers at the retail and agency levels. Having succeeded on both sides of the counter, Tony has developed a rare, big-picture view of the wine industry and its machinations inside Ontario.

A Toronto native, Tony completed his Advanced Certification at the International Wine Education Guild while at the LCBO, the world’s largest purchaser of wine and spirits. His six years as a product consultant, along with his selection to the Vintner’s Quality Alliance (VQA) Grading Panel, imbued Tony with an extensive knowledge of wine. His legendary customer focus – drawing patrons beyond his outlet’s geographic reach – enabled him to develop strong relationships that would endure as Tony advanced his career.

As a District Sales Manager for a large, Toronto-based wine agency, his positive attitude and tenacious work ethic earned him high regard among his colleagues and clients.

His love of wine and desire to learn have taken him to some of the world’s legendary cradles of wine civilization, including Tuscany, Bordeaux, Champagne, and California.

Now that he has his own company wedded to his reputation, Tony works harder than ever to ensure his customers remain his priority.
